Job Description:

Looking for a student who can coach middle school soccer for grades 6-7. We are hoping to fill this position immediately. Practices are flexible, but currently scheduled for Mon-Thur 4-5:30. Job Title:

Band and Orchestra Director

Job Description:

Students, we are looking for someone with instrumental experience who can lead instrumental programming at our Lincoln Meadows Campus. We have three campuses, so you would collaborate with our Head of Instrumental programming on a joint concert each semester. This position runs September through May, and also includes attendance at the Elitch Gardens Music Festival in May. If you are able to accommodate all 4 groups, compensation is $400/wk. Rehearsals are 7-8 am and 4-5 pm daily except Fridays. If you can take any part of that, we will consider adapting the schedule as needed. We would love your expertise. Job Description:

SUMMARY: Work with students individually and in small groups on individualized education plan goals. Models and encourages respect, communication and competency during student work task and during socialization. Using empathy and a non-judgmental approach to help the students understand and exhibit appropriate behaviors at school and in the community. Part of a team environment where collaboration, communication and adaptability are key to the success of the team and success of the students. The Paraprofessional assists the students during lunch and recess. Supervise the students during lunch and recess to ensure a positive and safe environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist classroom teacher in providing instruction and managing student educational programming.
2. Adapt instructional materials, equipment or strategies under the direction of the teacher or other professionals to provide differentiated instruction, accomplish objectives and meeting student needs.
3. Implement charting, data collection, paperwork preparation and other monitoring techniques to ensure student success in a variety of areas such as behavioral, social and educational.
4. Assist licensed staff in the implementation of classroom management and behavioral interventions, creating an environment appropriate for learning.
5. Utilize proactive behavior management techniques, reinforcing positive behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques and redirecting inappropriate behaviors.
6. Assist students in their daily routines, including escorting students during arrival and departure and to special classes or therapy, providing supervision in school areas such as lunch, the playground or gym and at school related activities off site.
7. Facilitate activities with a student or small group under the direction of the teacher, therapist or other related services staff.
8. Assist students with developing appropriate social skills and behavior, through a variety of methods including modeling, lessons, incentive plans and charting.
9. Help maintain safely of all students and the envioronment.
10. Collaborate with related service personnel, teachers, fellow assistants and other program/school staff in order to meet the needs of students and maintain a positive work environment for all.
11. Participate in training/in-service as assigned, in accordance to the contract.
12. Assist in supervising the students during lunch and recess.
13. Assist in responding to the individual needs of students.
14. Communicate effectively with all members of AACS.
15. Direct movement of groups to and from lunchroom and playground in a safe and organized manner.
16. React to change productively and hand other tasks as assigned
17. Support the mission of AACS.
18. Assist in the supervision of students during lunch and recess.
19. Observe, record and report student behavior to the Assistant Principal.
20. Use appropriate behavior management techniques to maintain a positive climate.
21. Set high expectations for student behavior.
22. Communicate, collaborate and cooperate with colleagues, administration and students.
23. Immediately report accidents, assaults and destruction of property and abusive behavior to the supervisor and/or the Administration. 24. Assist in lunchroom clean up.
25. See that AACS and building policies are observed during lunch and recess.
26. Adhere to all AACS health and safety policies.
27. Other duties as assigned by the principal, which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
1. Willingness and ability to work with students
2. Ability to work as an effective member of a team with staff, parents and the community through the building and maintaining of collaborative and positive relationships.
3. Good oral, written and interpersonal communication that is maintained during high-stress and crisis situations.
4. Ability and desire to work with assistive technology.
5. Basic computer skills
6. Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
7. Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
8. Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend and reach.
9. Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
10. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-around.

Responsibilities:
Teach elementary-aged students for 1-hour classes using Science Matters curriculum
Bring joy into learning through facilitating hands-on STEM experiments and Science Literacy
Create a take-home project each week with students
5-week to 12-week clubs- what’s there to lose?

Qualifications:
Love of learning and working with students
Enthusiastic about teaching Effective classroom management skills, with teaching experience preferred (but will train)
