Whether you have earned your degree, already have a job, or are changing careers, staying competitive in the workforce requires learning new skills throughout your professional life. While a college degree is often a good choice, there are many other vehicles to gaining credentials and skills for a particular job or career advancement. Innovative and Lifelong Learning offers credit and noncredit programs, certificates, and courses, online and face-to-face, that equip individuals with the specialized skills they need.
Self-paced online courses
Self-paced online (SPO) courses provide fully accredited college courses that offer a flexible alternative to traditional classroom and online schedules. Marrying the best of content and technology, SPOs offer a format designed to work with students’ busy schedules.
- Work independently and at your own pace from course material provided in Blackboard.
- Set your own schedule with no fixed assignment deadlines or class meeting times. All classes are run through the online Blackboard Learning Management System.
- Register for courses mid-semester (does not apply to financial aid eligible sections).
- Select 21-week or 6-month completion period for Fall and Spring semesters (based on financial aid options).
- All Summer semester classes are eligible for financial aid, and have a 12-week completion period.

MSU Denver’s South Campus offers evening and weekend classes designed to fit your busy schedule with access to computer labs, free parking, RTD Light Rail, and qualified faculty and staff dedicated to serving your needs and those of our community.

This unique certificate provides introductory level training and skills relevant to a wide range of fields in the nonprofit, corporate, and public sectors, including water industries, conservation, agriculture, construction, engineering, and law.
LearnOn is MSU Denver's non-credit continuing education program that provides personal enrochment and professional development (career advancement) courses to alumni, faculty/staff, students, and the community.
This program is one of the most comprehensive training programs in the nation. It will provide you with the tools necessary to pass the CFP® Certification Examination and guide you with the insight needed to become a successful personal financial planner.
This noncredit course provides specialized training in formula and human milk preparation for NICU Milk Lab technicians.
Continuing Professional Education, administered through Innovative and Lifelong Learning at the MSU Denver South Campus, participates in the development and delivery of programs that address the continuing education of professional in the community.
The Denver Hispanic Chamber Foundation, in collaboration with Metropolitan State University of Denver, offers a seven-month leadership development program for local mid-career professionals to support Latino advancement in the civic and business community.
MSU Denver's Innovative and Lifelong Learning in conjunction with The Center for Legal Studies offers non-credit certificate courses in a variety of legal disciplines.
MSU Denver Innovative and Lifelong Learning has partnered with Bridge Education Group to bring noncredit language programs to interested students.
